Week Two Digest — The Point Of Power Is Now

Think about your goal as if it had already manifested in your life. You have to live your dream.

Focus in the present

It’s important to think of your desired result as if it was already present in your life, and to incorporate as many of your senses (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, taste and smell as well self-talk) as seems useful.

Why?

The present moment is all you have

time is an illusion

Time is a human construction we’ve ‘made up’ to measure change. But your reality is always ‘now’. Although you can talk about events in various grammatical tenses (past, present, future etc.), you always and only ever live in now, and can only take action now.

Thinking and your emotional state

Perhaps even more important is that you experience emotions and feelings in the present moment. Remember, your state is the result of your thoughts (the way you represent your external experiences through visual, auditory, kinesthetic, olfactory, gustatory and self-talk). Your feelings and emotions have the most impact on your vibration.

When you think in the present tense about your goal, you’ll experience all the excitement that you would if you actually had the goal in real life. You’ll lift your vibration, and set yourself on an intercept course for your desire.

Be the energy you want to attract

The vibrancy you feel when you think about your goal is exactly the energy you want to attract into your life. So the more you can maintain that excitement and enthusiasm, the quicker your desire will manifest.

How do you create the right energy?

You think about your goal in the present tense. You could see yourself, dissociated, experiencing the desire you want. Or, you could imagine yourself experiencing what you want as if it was happening now. Or you could use a combination of both! If doing this doesn’t put you in an expansive state, then maybe it would be worthwhile to examine the goal itself and make sure it meets the other criteria laid out in your Problems to Possibilities Guide.

An example, perhaps?

Let's say I want to manifest a new laptop. I might begin by imagining seeing myself siting in my favourite chair, working on the new laptop in a really focused and calm way, churning through the work I want to achieve and looking satisfied and proud.

Next I envisage myself sitting in the comfy chair using the new laptop, noticing how much lighter it is, how it operates more quickly compared to the one I have now, I'm paying attention to how the keys feel more responsive, I notice how much more efficient I am. I might say to myself  "I so happy with this new laptop, I feel so well organised, focused and competent. I'm plowing through my work and enjoying every minute."

You next smallest step

When you’re feeling the energy of your goal,  put your hand on your heart and ask, “What’s the smallest next step I can take that will move me in the direction I want to go?”smallest next step

Listen carefully for an answer and then take that action. You may get a feeling to do something, or just a couple of words might spring to mind. Your heart and gut don't speak in long, coherent sentences, and the response you receive may not seem ‘logical’ to your head brain. In fact it might be something that seems to come from left field. No matter. Just do it and see what happens. You're also learning to trust yourself with this process.

Should, oughts and musts

Your head brain is likely to tell you what you ‘should’ ‘need’ or ‘have’ to do. Any of these words should trigger an alert. Responses from your head brain are likely to be rational and logical — with lots of words.

Believing you need to do something implies that you don’t want to do whatever it is — thus it is not ‘inspired action’. So even if you receive an answer that is a little weird, follow up on it and see where it takes you.

One day, I'd been consciously creating a new place to live. I'd spent about five minutes sitting in my comfy chair and feeling very excited about all the features I wanted in my new home. I put my hand on my heart and asked what was the smallest next step I could take to move me towards my new home. I got an image of a mind map. This made total sense because I love mind mapping and it was a great way for me to record everything I wanted in my new place, rather than just having it all floating around in my head. It also made it easier to visualise all the details.

Taking action

An uplifting emotional state is going to get you to your goal more quickly than anything else. Visualising your goal should support you to get in an appropriate state. Practice achieving and remaining in this state as long and as often as possible. Notice what happens when you do this. Take action only from this state.

You’ll see it when you believe it

My parents always used to say, ‘I’ll believe it when I see it.’ Nowadays we know that the opposite is true - we see it when we believe it. Why? Because what you believe serves as a neurological filter. It affects the Reticular Activating System (RAS) at the back of your brain, so you sort for things that match what you already believe.

A typical example is when you get a new car — you start noticing how many cars of the same model and colour suddenly seem to be on the road. As Anais Nin said, “We don’t perceive things as they are, we perceive things as we are.” So you don’t see things objectively —  none of us do. Each person perceives through their own beliefs, preconceptions, interpretations, and attitudes.

Suspend any disbelief

Do you have any doubt about your ability to get what you want? If you genuinely struggle to believe you can have what you’ve set your heart on, maybe decide on something different that would seem a least a possibility for you.

While the universe doesn’t measure things according to their monetary worth, I understand that it might be challenging to ask for something substantial if this is your first venture to consciously creating something. I had the same issue when I first learnt some of these techniques, so I visualised a pen in a box. That was something small that I felt was possible at that time.

The Universe has your back

The Universe, God, Spirit, the Quantum Field, the Field of All Possibilities, Spirit, All that Is. Whatever you want to call that energy that we're all floating in and that is within each of us — trust it!

Most of us are limited by our five senses, and sceptics believe that if they can’t sense it, then it doesn’t exist. This is a very narrow approach to life.

There are many things that we can’t ‘sense’ that exist nonetheless. For example, dogs can smell and hear things that are well outside our olfactory and auditory ranges. Does that mean that what they hear and smell is in their imagination?

Some creatures navigate by echolocation. We don’t find our way around like this, but that does mean we won’t be able to in future? In fact here’s a video of an amazing young man. He isn't just blind — he actually has no eyes. He uses echolocation to live what seems like a completely normal life.

As metaphysical science advances, it often completely overturns our assumptions about what is possible. You can search for examples yourself. The reason I’m mentioning it at all is that I want you to keep an open mind to the possibilities that exist for you to achieve what you want.

Your part of the equation is simple

Your job is to stay focused on what you want and to maintain a good state or vibration. You don’t have to figure out all the steps to reach your goal, or how what you want is going to come to you  — that’s the job of the universe.

If you’ve read the examples in the Problems To Possibilities Guide, you’ll see that the universe works in mysterious ways — ways that mere humans couldn’t even dream up. If you're in any doubt, read how the universe dished up something super special for me. All you have to do is nurture a good state, ask what the next smallest step is — then take inspired action. Keep your eyes and mind open, so you notice any opportunities that present themselves. Then take action if you feel inspired to do so.

The point of change is now

Keep going. Stay focused in now. Even though you can plan ahead, the point of power is now. Revisit the key points from last week and remember; whatever you've already learnt — it still counts! Even a little progress is still progress.

Key points from the last seven days

  • Think of your goal in the present tense. Imagine you have it now.
  • Be the energy you want to attract.
  • Create the state.
  • You’ll see it when you believe it.
  • Focus on what — not how. The how is the job of the universe.
  • Ask: "What's the next smallest step I can take towards my desire?"
  • Take inspired action — now!

Sound familiar?

I know, I've been there too. It can feel like a constant hunger — that no matter what you do, the satisfaction is always short-lived. The hunger returns, gnawing at your soul.

Or you don’t achieve the goal

Maybe you just lose interest, or it all becomes too hard. But the lack of achievement dents your self-confidence and motivation. It causes self-doubt, negative self-talk and maybe even low self-esteem.

So what are you searching for?

Image

Maybe you can't answer that question. You just know that you want more. I spent years searching for 'more'. The thoughts that drove me were "There must be more to life than this?" and "What am I here for?"

In the end, what was missing was a sense of purpose and meaning.

Ironically, once I found my answers, I knew I'd never achieve purpose and meaning from my senior management career.

That's not to say that other people can't find fulfilment in their careers — just that I couldn't. I left that career and started a training and coaching business, MetaMorphosis Ltd

Living a meaningful life goes beyond material possessions, beyond financial abundance — although it can of course — include both.

You know you’re capable of more.

That's probably why you're here. You want to contribute at a different level; to develop more of your potential and creativity.

I can help!

I've coached and trained thousands of people for over 20 years. I'll guide you to identify your mission or purpose. Then I'll work with you to overcome whatever obstacles stand in your way, so you can live life on your terms.
