Raglan
Welcome to Raglan
I train and coach people all around the world, but I truly love introducing people to Raglan when they come here for live workshops and in-person coaching. I do hope I have the pleasure of welcoming you here one day too.
The Perfect Place
Whaingaroa β the wider geographical Raglan area β is situated on the Wild West Coast of New Zealandβs North Island.
The estuary leads out to the harbour and to the intense and moody Tasman sea which teases the black ironsand beaches. The area lies under the protective watch of Mount Karioi, an extinct volcano, also known as Sleeping Lady.
In surfing communities, Raglan is world famous for its left hand break. Surfing is also popular year round at Whale Bay, Ngarunui Beach and the Indicators.
The Lonely Planet Guide says, βRaglan might be NZβs perfect surfing town.β And, βRaglan might also be New Zealandβs best-looking town. Itβs exactly the sort of laid-back, charming place that sees you shuffle your itinerary to extend your stay.β
Many of the local residents came here for a holiday β and stayed! As a result we're fortunate to live in a diverse cultural melting pot.Β With friendly people, embodying the laid back Raglan vibe, no traffic hassles, wonderful scenery, interesting, eclectic shops and trendy cafes, Raglan has it all.
This environment is home to a incredibly creative community and a wide variety of artwork abounds.
Suffice to say I love this place! I'm sure you will too. The changing nature of the coast provides me with ample opportunity to capture what I see when I'm out walking my dog, Ragz. Most of these images I've taken with my iPhone.
